A record of the genealogy /ˌdʒiː.niˈæl.ə.dʒi/家譜 of Jesus Christ the son of David, the son of Abraham [ˋeibrəhæm]:

Abraham was the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,

亞伯拉罕生以撒，以撒生雅各，雅各生猶大和他的弟兄，

Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar, Perez the father of Hezron, Hezron the father of Ram,

猶大從她瑪氏生法勒斯和謝拉，法勒斯生希斯侖，希斯侖生亞蘭，

Ram the father of Amminadab, Amminadab the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the father of Salmon,

亞蘭生亞米拿達，亞米拿達生拿順，拿順生撒門，

Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse,

and Jesse the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife,

Solomon the father of Rehoboam, Rehoboam the father of Abijah, Abijah the father of Asa,

所羅門生羅波安，羅波安生亞比雅，亞比雅生亞撒，

Asa the father of Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat the father of Jehoram, Jehoram the father of Uzziah,

亞撒生約沙法，約沙法生約蘭，約蘭生烏西亞，

Uzziah the father of Jotham, Jotham the father of Ahaz, Ahaz the father of Hezekiah,

烏西亞生約坦，約坦生亞哈斯，亞哈斯生希西家，

Hezekiah the father of Manasseh, Manasseh the father of Amon, Amon the father of Josiah,

希西家生瑪拿西，瑪拿西生亞們，亞們生約西亞。

and Josiah the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.

百姓被遷到巴比倫的時候，約西亞生耶哥尼雅和他的弟兄。

太1:12

After the exile to Babylon: Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel, Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,

遷到巴比倫之後，耶哥尼雅生撒拉鐵，撒拉鐵生所羅巴伯，

太1:13

Zerubbabel the father of Abiud, Abiud the father of Eliakim, Eliakim the father of Azor,

所羅巴伯生亞比玉，亞比玉生以利亞敬，以利亞敬生亞所，

太1:14

Azor the father of Zadok, Zadok the father of Akim, Akim the father of Eliud,

亞所生撒督，撒督生亞金，亞金生以律，

太1:15

Eliud the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob,

以律生以利亞撒，以利亞撒生馬但，馬但生雅各，

太1:16

and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

雅各生約瑟，就是馬利亞的丈夫。那稱為基督的耶穌，是從馬利亞生的。

太1:17

Thus there were fourteen generations /ˌdʒen.əˈreɪ.ʃən/ 年齡層, 一代（人） in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile /ˈek.saɪl/ 流放 to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Christ.

exile （尤指出於政治原因的）流放，放逐，流亡, 被流放者, 流亡者…

這樣，從亞伯拉罕到大衛，共有十四代；從大衛到遷至巴比倫的時候，也有十四代；從遷至巴比倫的時候到基督，又有十四代。

太1:18

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged  /pledʒ/ 誓言, 諾言, 保證 to be married to Joseph [ˋdʒəuzif]（宙zif）, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.

Joseph （聖經中的）約瑟；規矩的男人；討厭女色的男人

耶穌基督降生的事記在下麵：他母親馬利亞已經許配了約瑟，還沒有迎娶，馬利亞就從聖靈懷了孕。

太1:19

Because Joseph her husband was a righteous [ˋraitʃəs] man and did not want to expose /ɪkˈspoʊz/ 暴露, 揭露，揭發 her to public disgrace 恥辱，丟臉, he had in mind to divorce /dɪ ˈvɔːrs/離婚 her quietly /ˈkwaɪət.li/.

她丈夫約瑟是個義人，不願意明明地羞辱她，想要暗暗地把她休了。

太1:20

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

considered /kənˈsɪd.ɚd/ 考慮過的；經過深思熟慮的；受人尊敬的；被尊重的

正思念這事的時候，有主的使者向他夢中顯現，說：“大衛的子孫約瑟，不要怕，只管娶過你的妻子馬利亞來，因她所懷的孕是從聖靈來的。

太1:21

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

她將要生一個兒子，你要給他起名叫耶穌，因他要將自己的百姓從罪惡裡救出來。”

太1:22

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:

這一切的事成就，是要應驗主借先知所說的話，

太1:23

“The virgin /ˈvɝː.dʒɪn/ 處女 will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel [i’mænjuəl]救世主，基督 ”–which means, “God with us.”

virgin 處女, 童男, 從未有過…經歷的人

說：“必有童女懷孕生子，人要稱他的名為以馬內利。”（以馬內利翻出來就是“　神與我們同在”。）

太1:24

When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.

woke（wake 的過去式）, 醒來, 叫醒；（種族主義和不平等等社會問題）警惕的，警覺的

約瑟醒了，起來，就遵著主使者的吩咐，把妻子娶過來，

太1:25

But he had no union /ˈjuː.njən/ 聯結, 聯合, 結合 with her until 到…時 she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

gave （give的過去式）提供, 送給, 贈與…

give birth to 产生, 生（孩子），产（仔）

只是沒有和她同房，等她生了兒子（有古卷作“等她生了頭胎的兒子”），就給他起名叫耶穌。
