太8:1
When Jesus came down from the mountainside /ˈmaʊn.tənˌsaɪd/ 山腰;山坡, large crowds /kraʊd/ followed him.
耶穌下了山，有許多人跟著他。
太8:2
A man with leprosy /ˈlep.rə.si/ 痳瘋病 came and knelt （kneel 的過去式）before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”

有一個長大麻瘋的來拜他，說：“主若肯，必能叫我潔淨了。”
太8:3
Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.
耶穌伸手摸他說：“我肯，你潔淨了吧！”他的大麻瘋立刻就潔淨了。
太8:4
Then Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest /priːst/ 牧师 and offer the gift Moses /ˈmoʊ.zɪz/ commanded /kəˈmænd/, as a testimony /ˈtes.tə.moʊ.ni/ to them.”

When Jesus had entered Capernaum /kə’pɜ:niəm/, a centurion /senˈtʊr.i.ən/ came to him, asking for help.
耶穌進了迦百農，有一個百夫長進前來，求他說：

“Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed /ˈper.əl.aɪzd/ and in terrible suffering.”

“主啊，我的僕人害癱瘓病，躺在家裡，甚是疼苦。”
太8:7
Jesus said to him, “Shall I come and heal 癒合;治癒 him?”
耶穌說：“我去醫治他。”
太8:8
The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve /dɪˈzɝːv/ to have you come under my roof . But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
deserve 值得；應得

say the word 吩咐一下，說一聲，表示一下
百夫長回答說：“主啊，你到我捨下，我不敢當；只要你說一句話，我的僕人就必好了。
太8:9
For I myself am a man under authority /əˈθɔːr.ə.t̬i/ , with soldiers /ˈsoʊl.dʒɚ/ under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes /ɡoʊz/; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does /dʌz/ it.”

authority 威信；權力；管轄權
因為我在人的權下，也有兵在我以下；對這個說，‘去’，他就去；對那個說，‘來’，他就來；對我的僕人說，‘你做這事’，他就去做。”
太8:10
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed /əˈmeɪzd/ 十分驚奇的，驚愕的 and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel /ˈɪz.reɪl/ 以色列 with such great faith.
耶穌聽見就希奇，對跟從的人說：“我實在告訴你們：這麼大的信心，就是在以色列中，我也沒有遇見過。
太8:11
I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness /ˈdɑːrk.nəs/, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

惟有本國的子民，竟被趕到外邊黑暗裡去，在那裡必要哀哭切齒了。”
太8:13
Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! It will be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that very hour.
耶穌對百夫長說：“你回去吧！照你的信心，給你成全了。”那時，他的僕人就好了。

When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw Peter’s mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever /ˈfiː.vɚ/ 發燒.

He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him.
耶穌把她的手一摸，熱就退了；她就起來服事耶穌。

When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.
到了晚上，有人帶著許多被鬼附的來到耶穌跟前，他只用一句話，就把鬼都趕出去，並且治好了一切有病的人。
太8:17
This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah /ai’zaiə/ : “He took up our infirmities /ɪnˈfɝː.mə.t̬i/ and carried our diseases /dɪˈziːz/.”
fulfill 實現；達到；履行，執行

infirmities （尤指因年邁而造成的長期的）病弱，體弱生病

這是要應驗先知以賽亞的話，說：“他代替我們的軟弱，擔當我們的疾病。”

When Jesus saw the crowd around him, he gave orders to cross to the other side of the lake.

耶穌見許多人圍著他，就吩咐渡到那邊去。
太8:19
Then a teacher of the law came to him and said, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”
有一個文士來，對他說：“夫子，你無論往哪裡去，我要跟從你。”

Jesus replied, “Foxes /fɑːks/ have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”
耶穌說：“狐狸有洞，天空的飛鳥有窩，人子卻沒有枕頭的地方。”

Another disciple said to him, “Lord, first let me go and bury /ˈber.i/ my father.”

又有一個門徒對耶穌說：“主啊，容我先回去埋葬我的父親。”
太8:22
But Jesus told him, “Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.”
耶穌說：“任憑死人埋葬他們的死人，你跟從我吧！”

Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him.
耶穌上了船，門徒跟著他。

Without /wɪˈðaʊt/ warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.

門徒來叫醒了他，說：“主啊，救我們，我們喪命啦！”
太8:26
He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

耶穌說：“你們這小信的人哪！為什麼膽怯呢？”於是起來，斥責風和海，風和海就大大地平靜了。

The men were amazed and asked, “What kind /kaɪnd/ of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

When he arrived at the other side in the region /ˈriː.dʒən/ of the Gadarenes, two demon /ˈdiː.mən/-possessed /pəˈzest/ men coming from the tombs /tuːm/ met him. They were so violent /ˈvaɪə.lənt/ that no one could pass that way.

耶穌既渡到那邊去，來到加大拉人的地方，就有兩個被鬼附的人從墳塋裡出來迎著他 ，極其兇猛，甚至沒有人能從那條路上經過。

“What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture /ˈtɔːr.tʃɚ/ us before the appointed time?”
torture 拷打;拷問;折磨;虐待
appointed 被指定的，被委任的
他們喊著說：“ 神的兒子，我們與你有什麼相干？時候還沒有到，你就上這裡來叫我們受苦嗎？”

Some distance /ˈdɪs.təns/ from them a large herd /hɝːd/ of pigs was feeding.

離他們很遠，有一大群豬吃食。
太8:31
The demons begged 乞求 Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.”
鬼就央求耶穌說：“若把我們趕出去，就打發我們進入豬群吧！”
太8:32
He said to them, “Go!” So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water.
耶穌說：“去吧！”鬼就出來，進入豬群。全群忽然闖下山崖，投在海裡淹死了。
太8:33
Those tending the pigs ran off, went into the town and reported all this, including what had happened to the demon /ˈdiː.mən/-possessed /pəˈzest/ men.
放豬的就逃跑進城，將這一切事和被鬼附的人所遭遇的都告訴人。
太8:34
Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they pleaded /pliːd/ 請求, 乞求，懇求, 陳述 with him to leave their region.
合城的人都出來迎見耶穌，既見了，就央求他離開他們的境界。
