太3:1
In those days John the Baptist /ˈbæp.tɪst/ came, preaching /priːtʃ/ 講道，佈道, 說服 in the Desert of Judea

那時，有施洗的約翰出來，在猶太的曠野傳道，說：

and saying, “Repent /rɪˈpent/後悔, 悔過，懺悔, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”
“天國近了，你們應當悔改！”
太3:3
This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice /vɔɪs/ 聲音, 說話聲, 嗓音 of one calling in the desert, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight /streɪt/ 筆直的 paths for him.’”
straight 不彎曲的, 直的（地），筆直的（地）, 誠實的…
這人就是先知以賽亞所說的，他說：“在曠野有人聲喊著說：‘預備主的道，修直他的路！’”
太3:4
John’s clothes were made of camel’s hair 骆驼毛, and he had a leather /ˈleð.ɚ/皮革 belt 服飾, 腰帶, 輸送帶 around his waist /weɪst/ 腰，腰部, （衣服的）腰部. His food was locusts /ˈloʊ.kəst/ 蝗蟲 and wild /waɪld/ 荒野 honey /ˈhʌn.i/甜味物質, 蜂蜜, 人.

wild 不受控制的, 瘋狂的, 狂暴的
這約翰身穿駱駝毛的衣服，腰束皮帶，吃的是蝗蟲、野蜜。
太3:5
People went out to him from Jerusalem /dʒəˈruː.sələm/ and all Judea and the whole region /ˈriː.dʒən/ 區域，地區 of the Jordan.
那時，耶路撒冷和猶太全地，並約旦河一帶地方的人，都出去到約翰那裡，
太3:6
Confessing /kənˈfes/ their sins, they were baptized /bæpˈtaɪz/ by him in the Jordan River.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing /bæpˈtaɪz/ 施洗, he said to them: “You brood of vipers 蝰蛇, 陰險的人! Who warned you to flee 逃跑 from the coming wrath /rɑːθ/ 憤怒, 憤慨?

Produce fruit in keeping with repentance /rɪˈpen.təns/ 悔恨.
你們要結出果子來，與悔改的心相稱。
太3:9
And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise /reɪz/ 舉起, 抬起, 提起 up children for Abraham.
不要自己心裡說：‘有亞伯拉罕為我們的祖宗。’我告訴你們： 神能從這些石頭中給亞伯拉罕興起子孫來。
太3:10
The ax /æks/ is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.
現在斧子已經放在樹根上，凡不結好果子的樹，就砍下來，丟在火裡。
太3:11
“I baptize you with water for repentance /rɪˈpen.təns/ 悔恨. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals /ˈsæn.dəl/涼鞋 I am not fit 尺寸正確, 合適，合身, 可容納 to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
我是用水給你們施洗，叫你們悔改；但那在我以後來的，能力比我更大，我就是給他提鞋也不配。他要用聖靈與火給你們施洗。
太3:12
His winnowing 簸 fork /fɔːrk/ 餐叉 is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing /θreʃ/使（穀物）脫粒 floor, gathering /ˈɡæð.ɚ.ɪŋ/ 聚會, 集會 his wheat into the barn /bɑːrn/穀倉，糧倉 and burning /ˈbɝː.nɪŋ/火, 燃燒的, 熱 up the chaff 穀殼，糠, 乾草飼料 with unquenchable /ʌnˈkwen.tʃə.bəl/ 無法抑制的 fire.”
winnow 揚，簸（穀物）, 篩選，挑選
他手裡拿著簸箕，要揚淨他的場，把麥子收在倉裡，把糠用不滅的火燒盡了。”
太3:13
Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.
當下，耶穌從加利利來到約旦河，見了約翰，要受他的洗。
太3:14
But John tried to deter /dɪˈtɝː/ 阻止 him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”

太3:15
Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper /ˈprɑː.pɚ/ 真正的, 適合的, 適當的 for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented 許可，允許, 同意, 答應.
耶穌回答說：“你暫且許我，因為我們理當這樣盡諸般的義（或作“禮”）。”於是約翰許了他。
太3:16
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending （身體部位）下降的，下行的 like a dove /dʌv/鳥, 鴿子 and lighting 照明，燈光設計 on him.
耶穌受了洗，隨即從水裡上來。天忽然為他開了，他就看見 神的靈仿佛鴿子降下，落在他身上。
And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
從天上有聲音說：“這是我的愛子，我所喜悅的。”
