and he began to teach them, He said:

他就開口教訓他們,說:

太5:3

“Blessed /blest/ 有福的 are the poor in spirit /ˈspɪr.ət/ 精神, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

“虛心的人有福了,因為天國是他們的。

太5:4

Blessed are those who mourn /mɔːrn/ 哀悼, for they will be comforted /ˈkʌm.fɚt/ 舒適.

Blessed are the meek /miːk/ 溫順的;謙和的 , for they will inherit /ɪnˈher.ɪt/ the earth  /ɝːθ/.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst  /θɝːst/ 渴,口渴 for righteousness /ˈraɪ.tʃəs.nəs/ 正義;公正;正當, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful /ˈmɝː.sɪ.fəl/ 寬大的;慈悲的,仁慈的, for they will be shown /ʃoʊn/ mercy /ˈmɝː.si/憐憫.

Blessed are the pure /pjʊr/ 純的,不摻雜的 in heart  /hɑːrt/, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers /ˈpiːsˌmeɪ.kɚ/, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted /ˈpɝː.sɪ.kjuːt/ 迫害 because of righteousness /ˈraɪ.tʃəs.nəs/, for theirs is the kingdom /ˈkɪŋ.dəm/ of heaven.

“Blessed are you when people insult /ˈɪn.sʌlt/ you, persecute you and falsely /ˈfɑːls.li/ say all kinds /kaɪnd/ of evil /ˈiː.vəl/ against you because of me.

Rejoice /rɪˈdʒɔɪs/ and be glad, because great is your reward獎賞 in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted /ˈpɝː.sɪ.kjuːt/ 迫害 the prophets /ˈprɑː.fɪt/ who were before you.

“You are the salt /sɑːlt/ 鹽 of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness /ˈsɑːl.ti.nəs/ 鹹味, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled /ˈtræm.pəl/ underfoot.

“You are the light of the world. A town built  /bɪld/ on a hill cannot be hidden.

Neither /ˈniː.ðɚ/ 兩者都不 do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl /boʊl/ 碗;缽. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

In the same way, let your light shine /ʃaɪn/ 照耀 before others, that they may see your good deeds行為 and glorify  /ˈɡlɔːr.ə.faɪ/ your Father in heaven.

“Do not think that I have come to abolish /əˈbɑː.lɪʃ/ 廢除 the Law or the Prophets /ˈprɑː.fɪt/; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

For truly I tell you, until  /ənˈtɪl/ heaven and earth disappear /ˌdɪs.əˈpɪr/ 消失, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke /stroʊk/ 筆畫 of a pen, will by any means /miːnz/ disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished /əˈkɑːm.plɪʃt/ 熟練的;有造詣的;有才藝的.

Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands  /kəˈmænd/ (尤指軍人發出的)命令,指示 and teaches /tiːtʃ/ others accordingly /əˈkɔːr.dɪŋ.li/ 照著;相應地 will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices /ˈpræk.tɪs/ 實踐 and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

For I tell you that unless /ənˈles/ 除了在…的情況下your righteousness surpasses /sɚˈpæs/ 超過,優於,勝過 that of the Pharisees /ˈfer.ɪ.siː/ 法利賽人 and the teachers of the law /lɑː/ 法律體系, you will certainly /ˈsɝː.tən.li/ 肯定 not enter the kingdom of heaven.

“You have heard  /hɪr/ that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder謀殺, and anyone who murders  /ˈmɝː.dɚ/ 謀殺,兇殺 will be subject /ˈsʌb.dʒekt/ 主題 to judgment /ˈdʒʌdʒ.mənt/ 判斷力;識別力.’

But I tell you that anyone who is angry /ˈæŋ.ɡri/ with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca /’ra:kə/ 魔裏(毫無價值、空虛、虛無的), ’ is answerable /ˈæn.sɚ.ə.bəl/ 為…承擔責任 to the Sanhedrin  /sænˈhedrin/ 公會. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell /hel/ 悲慘的境況;苦難的經歷.

備注:the fire of hell 地獄之火

“Therefore /ˈðer.fɔːr/, if you are offering your gift /ɡɪft/ 禮物;贈品 at the altar /ˈɑːl.tɚ/ 祭壇 and there remember that your brother or sister has something /ˈsʌm.θɪŋ/ against 反對 you,

leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled /ˈrek.ən.saɪl/ 調和;調解;使一致 to them; then come and offer your gift.

“Settle 確定;決定;解決,結束(爭端等) matters 事情,事件 quickly with your adversary /ˈæd.vɚ.ser.i/ 對手,敵手 who is taking you to court /kɔːrt/ 法院. Do it while /waɪl/ you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to 把你交給 the judge /dʒʌdʒ/ 法官, and the judge may hand you over to the officer 軍官, and you may be thrown /θroʊn/ /θ肉n/ 拋出 into prison.

Truly /ˈtruː.li/ I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last /læst/ penny /ˈpen.i/一分錢,便士(最小的貨幣單位).

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit  /kəˈmɪt/ adultery /əˈdʌl.tɚ.i/ 通姦(行為).’

But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully /ˈlʌst.fəl.i/ has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

If your right eye causes you to stumble /ˈstʌm.bəl/ 絆腳;絆倒, gouge /ɡaʊdʒ/ 挖出 it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose /luːz/ one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown /θroʊn/ into hell.

若是你的右眼叫你跌倒,就剜出來丟掉,寧可失去百體中的一體,不叫全身丟在地獄裡;

And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body /ˈbɑː.di/ to go into hell.

“It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces /dɪˈvɔːrs/ his wife must give her a certificate  /sɚˈtɪf.ə.kət/ 證書;證明 of divorce.’

But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual /ˈsek.sjʊəl/ immorality /ˌɪm.əˈræl.ə.t̬i/ makes her the victim /ˈvɪk.təm/ of adultery /əˈdʌl.tər.i/ , and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

“Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows /vaʊ/ 發誓,立誓 you have made.’

But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne;

只是我告訴你們:什麼誓都不可起。不可指著天起誓,因為天是 神的座位;

or by the earth, for it is his footstool  /ˈfʊt.stuːl/ 腳凳; or by Jerusalem /dʒəˈruː.sələm/ [鷄入色冷], for it is the city of the Great King.

不可指著地起誓,因為地是他的腳凳;也不可指著耶路撒冷起誓,因為耶路撒冷是大君的京城;

And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even /ˈiː.vən/ 甚至 one hair white or black.

All you need to say is simply  /ˈsɪm.pli/ 簡單地 ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond /biˈjɑːnd/ 更遠;遠於 this comes from the evil /ˈiː.vəl/ one.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’

But I tell you, do not resist /rɪˈzɪst/ an evil /ˈiː.vəl/ person. If anyone slaps /slæp/ you on the right cheek  /tʃiːk/ turn to them the other cheek also.

只是我告訴你們:不要與惡人作對。有人打你的右臉,連左臉也轉過來由他打;

And if anyone wants to sue  /suː/ you and take your shirt /ʃɜːt/, hand over your coat as well.

有人想要告你,要拿你的裡衣,連外衣也由他拿去;

If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.

有人強逼你走一裡路,你就同他走二裡;

Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor /ˈneɪ.bər/ and hate /heɪt/ your enemy /ˈen.ə.mi/.’

But I tell you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute /ˈpɝː.sɪ.kjuːt/ you,

that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous /ʌnˈraɪ.tʃəs/不義的.

If you love those who love you, what reward /rɪˈwɔːrd/ will you get? Are not even /ˈiː.vən/ the tax collectors /kəˈlek.tɚ/ doing that?

And if you greet /ɡriːt/ 問候 only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans /ˈpeɪ.ɡən/ 異教徒do that?

Be perfect /ˈpɝː.fekt/, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect
