太9:1

Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town.

耶穌上了船,渡過海,來到自己的城裡。

太9:2

Some men brought to him a paralytic, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”

有人用褥子抬著一個癱子到耶穌跟前來。耶穌見他們的信心,就對癱子說:“小子,放心吧!你的罪赦了。”

At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!”

有幾個文士心裡說:“這個人說僭妄的話了。”

太9:4

Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?

耶穌知道他們的心意,就說:“你們為什麼心裡懷著惡念呢?

太9:5

Which is easier  /ˈiː.zi/不難的, 容易的, 不費力的 : to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk  /wɑːk/ 行走’?

或說‘你的罪赦了’,或說‘你起來行走’,哪一樣容易呢?

太9:6

But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. . . .” Then he said to the paralytic  /ˌper.əˈlɪt̬.ɪk/酩酊大醉的,爛醉的, 麻痺的,癱瘓的, “Get up, take your mat /mæt/ 地面, 地墊,地毯, 桌子 and go home.”

但要叫你們知道,人子在地上有赦罪的權柄。”就對癱子說:“起來,拿你的褥子回家去吧!”

太9:7

And the man got up and went home.

那人就起來,回家去了。

太9:8

When the crowd saw this, they were filled 充滿 with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to men.

fill 地方, (使)充滿,(使)裝滿,(使)注滿, 佔據

眾人看見都驚奇,就歸榮耀與 神,因為他將這樣的權柄賜給人。

太9:9

As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.

耶穌從那裡往前走,看見一個人名叫馬太,坐在稅關上,就對他說:“你跟從我來。”他就起來,跟從了耶穌。

太9:10

While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and “sinners” came and ate with him and his disciples.

耶穌在屋裡坐席的時候,有好些稅吏和罪人來,與耶穌和他的門徒一同坐席。

太9:11

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?”

法利賽人看見,就對耶穌的門徒說:“你們的先生為什麼和稅吏並罪人一同吃飯呢?”

太9:12

On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy  /ˈhel.θi/ who need a doctor, but the sick.

healthy 健康, 強壯的,健康的, 顯示健康的

耶穌聽見,就說:“康健的人用不著醫生,有病的人才用得著。

太9:13

But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy  /ˈmɝː.si/, not sacrifice  /ˈsæk.rə.faɪs/ 放棄, 犧牲, 獻出.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

mercy 仁慈, 慈悲,憐憫, 仁慈,寬容

經上說:“‘我喜愛憐恤,不喜愛祭祀。’這句話的意思,你們且去揣摩。我來,本不是召義人,乃是召罪人。”

太9:14

Then John’s disciples came and asked him, “How is it that we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?”

那時,約翰的門徒來見耶穌,說:“我們和法利賽人常常禁食,你的門徒倒不禁食,這是為什麼呢?”

太9:15

Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom /ˈbraɪd.ɡruːm/ 新郎, 即將(或剛)結婚的男子 mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.

耶穌對他們說:“新郎和陪伴之人同在的時候,陪伴之人豈能哀慟呢?但日子將到,新郎要離開他們,那時候他們就要禁食。

太9:16

“No one sews a patch of unshrunk /ʌnˈʃrʌŋk/未縮小的 cloth on an old garment /ˈɡɑːr.mənt/ (一件)衣服, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse.

沒有人把新布補在舊衣服上,因為所補上的反帶壞了那衣服,破的就更大了。

太9:17

Neither do men pour new wine into old wineskins 酒袋. If they do, the skins will burst, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined  /ˈruː.ɪnd/. No, they pour  /pɔːr/ new wine  /waɪn/ 葡萄酒, 果酒 into new wineskins, and both are preserved /prɪˈzɝːv/ 保護,維護, 保存, 保養.”

burst(使)迸裂, (使)爆炸, (心中)充滿

pour  使流動, 倒,注,灌, 快速流動

也沒有人把新酒裝在舊皮袋裡,若是這樣,皮袋就裂開,酒漏出來,連皮袋也壞了。惟獨把新酒裝在新皮袋裡,兩樣就都保全了。”

太9:18

While he was saying this, a synagogue /ˈsɪn.ə.ɡɑːɡ/ 猶太教堂 leader came and knelt before him and said, “My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.”

kneel  /niːl/ (過去式knelt or kneeled)跪(下)

耶穌說這話的時候,有一個管會堂的來拜他說:“我女兒剛才死了,求你去按手在她身上,她就必活了。”

太9:19

Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples.

耶穌便起來跟著他去,門徒也跟了去。

太9:20

Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding  /ˈbliː.dɪŋ/ (不耐煩時)該死的 for twelve years came up behind 出現在後面 him and touched the edge 邊緣 of his cloak.

有一個女人,患了十二年的血漏,來到耶穌背後,摸他的衣裳穗子,

太9:21

She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.”

因為她心裡說:“我只摸他的衣裳,就必痊癒。”

太9:22

Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.

耶穌轉過來看見她,就說:“女兒,放心!你的信救了你。”從那時候,女人就痊癒了。

太9:23

When Jesus entered the synagogue leader’s 領導者的 house and saw the noisy  /nɔɪz/ 聲音, 噪聲, 雜音crowd and people playing pipes 管道,

耶穌到了管會堂的家裡,看見有吹手,又有許多人亂嚷,

太9:24

he said, “Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at him.

就說:“退去吧!這閨女不是死了,是睡著了。”他們就嗤笑他。

太9:25

After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up.

眾人既被攆出,耶穌就進去,拉著閨女的手,閨女便起來了。

太9:26

News of this spread /spred/ 傳遍 through all that region.

spread (使)展開,(使)鋪開, (使)蔓延,(使)擴散, 覆蓋範圍

於是這風聲傳遍了那地方。

太9:27

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy /ˈmɝː.si/ 憐憫 on us, Son of David!”

mercy 仁慈, 慈悲,憐憫, 仁慈,寬容

耶穌從那裡往前走,有兩個瞎子跟著他,喊叫說:“大衛的子孫,可憐我們吧!”

太9:28

When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied.

耶穌進了房子,瞎子就來到他跟前。耶穌說:“你們信我能做這事嗎?”他們說:“主啊,我們信!”

太9:29

Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”;

耶穌就摸他們的眼睛,說:“照著你們的信給你們成全了吧!”

太9:30

and their sight /saɪt/ 視力, 景象, 所見之物 was restored. Jesus warned them sternly /ˈstɝːn.li/ 嚴厲地,苛刻地, “See that no one knows about this.”

他們的眼睛就開了。耶穌切切地囑咐他們說:“你們要小心,不可叫人知道。”

太9:31

But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region.

他們出去,竟把他的名聲傳遍了那地方。

太9:32

While they were going out, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus.

他們出去的時候,有人將鬼所附的一個啞巴帶到耶穌跟前來。

太9:33

And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute 無法説話的 spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.”

mute 沉默的, (活動)無聲的, 無法說話的

鬼被趕出去,啞巴就說出話來。眾人都希奇說:“在以色列中,從來沒有見過這樣的事!”

太9:34

But the Pharisees said, “It is by the prince /prɪns/ 王子, 親王, 王孫 of demons that he drives out demons.”

法利賽人卻說:“他是靠著鬼王趕鬼。”

Jesus went through all the towns and villages /ˈvɪl.ɪdʒ/ 村莊, 村子, 全體村民, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming /proʊˈkleɪm/ 宣佈, 聲明, 表示 the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease /dɪˈziːz/惡疾,弊病 and sickness 有病的, 患病, 嘔吐.

太9:35

耶穌走遍各城各鄉,在會堂裡教訓人,宣講天國的福音,又醫治各樣的病症。

太9:36

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion 同情,憐憫,惻隱之心 on them, because they were harassed /həˈræst/ 煩惱的,疲憊焦慮的 and helpless 無助的,無奈的, like sheep without a shepherd  /ˈʃep.ɚd/牧羊人, 人, 帶領,引導.

他看見許多的人,就憐憫他們,因為他們困苦流離,如同羊沒有牧人一般。

太9:37

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest  /ˈhɑːr.vəst/ 收穫時節, 收割,收穫, 收成 is plentiful /ˈplen.t̬ɪ.fəl/豐富的,充足的,多的 but the workers are few.

於是對門徒說:“要收的莊稼多,做工的人少;

太9:38

Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

所以,你們當求莊稼的主,打發工人出去收他的莊稼。”
